Donald Trump is running the White House like a business. That's the problem

http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/23/politics/trump-flynn-russia/index.html

This article is talking about the fact that Donald Trump is running this government more like a business than an actual put together system. He is not taking things seriously and properly and like what happened last week when he leaked classified information about our military to the Russian government. He asked two of his top intelligence officials to publicly knock down the idea that his 2016 presidential campaign had colluded with the Russians in the days after then-FBI Director James Comey revealed a federal investigation was underway into the matter, according to reporting by The Washington Post and CNN. And both the men, the Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and National Security Agency head Mike Rogers, were uncomfortable with the request and turned it down.

This relates to the content we have discussed in class because we have discussed the roles of the president. Whether he has the power to control anything or release any information is sometimes up to him but the rest of the time it would be from the rest of the government like the Congress and Senate to decide. We have also discussed the role that the government plays as far as limiting the president's power or turning down any ideas he would have. I think that topic was relevant to this article considering that the article is talking about specifically that he may not be running our government the right way.

My opinion on this whole article and what they are discussing is that I think they should put some limits on his power and what he does or there could be some serious issues. If Trump runs this government keeping up the possible mistakes he could make there could be some bad things that would happen to our government and could tear it apart. If our government falls apart or he makes another huge mistake our country could be at stake.

How Government Secrets Are Declassified and Disclosed

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/how-government-secrets-are-declassified-and-disclosed/ar-BBBbvmy?li=AA5a8k&ocid=spartanntp

Recently our president Donald Trump talked in a meeting about government secrets of the Islamic State to the Russians. This jeopardized the ally's intelligence source and has raised interest in legal issues surrounding disclosures of classified information. Luckily Mr. Trump has the authority to disclose the information. It is part of his constitutional powers as commander in chief. Apparently Trump's attempt to declassify the information didn't work and it is still out there.

This has to do with what we have discussed in class because we have talked about the powers of the president and what he has as far as commanders in anything. He can shut down any classified information and has the constitutional authority to control what happens in anything. He used those powers to recently to try and disclose the classified information he gave out but it apparently didn't make a difference. This just shows how powerful the president can actually be in the government and powerful enough to control or shut down anything that could put the government in jeopardy.

My opinion on this situation is that I think that it was a bit careless of the president to spill the classified information to the Russians during a meeting. This could actually be so bad and if he does it again with anything that could be worse he put our country possibly in danger and jeopardize our safety. The president isn't supposed to leak any information about our government if he is responsible so again I think it was very careless and unprofessional of him to do that. He needs to be monitored on anything he could say or prepare what he is gonna say better so there is no potential risk of this happening again.

Trump Fires FBI Director James Coney

http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/09/politics/james-comey-fbi-trump-white-out/index.html

Recently, Trump fired an FBI member James Coney and it has brought a bit of chaos around the nation today. He swept away the man who is responsible for the bureau's investigation into whether members of his campaign team colluded with Russia in its interference in last year's election. It sent a shock and surprise ricocheting through Washington ends the career of the man who was once seen as the unimpeachable and nonpartisan ideal of how a law enforcement officer should behave. Trump said that he was getting too close to the White House.

This applies to the content we have been discussing in class because it has to do with the bureaucracy and we have discussed how hard it is to get fired in the system. To see this actually happen in the system and etc. is pretty cool to see considering it is a rare sight or ting that happens in the system and it has caused a good amount of controversy in the nation.

My opinion on the whole situation is that it seems very excessive and a hassle because Donald Trump's reasoning to firing him seems a little pointless. The firing drama has brought a lot of complaint and that it's supposed to be nonpartisan and impeachable.

What Hill Republicans think of Trump's tax plan: 'Not even close' to reform

http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/26/politics/congress-tax-reform-analysis/index.html

The article talks about how Republicans and others are getting frustrated by Trump's tax plan. His big tax announcement on Wednesday they said lacked crucial components necessary in the push to secure the first major tax reform in more than 30 years. It will be known as "the biggest tax cut and largest tax reform in history of this country," the Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Wednesday talking about the proposal to the Hill. The GOP lawmakers and aides said they were not really expecting this and that it came as a shock. The White House defended the plan which was presented on a sheet Wednesday. Gary Cohn said it will be a very difficult process and they will be attacked left and right but he will never doubt our president Donald Trump to let this country down.

This article relates to the content we are discussing in class because we have been talking about presidency and bureaucracy and presidency and this is what this is. The government is trying to work with President Trump and figure out this whole idea and approving and announcing it. This shows the president's power in the government. It also shows the government and the White House and other agencies working with the president on these subjects and announcements. There were also a lot of discussions between House and Senate which is a big subject in bureaucracy.

I think that this whole tax plan is causing a lot of disruption in the economy and society today. It's a big deal and a huge and difficult step to take in our government and a change in the government function. I think that it is great that Trump is actually pursuing what he said he would do when he was running for president. I think this could be a good change in our tax methods and could possibly bring a very positive impact on our union today.

Man Gets Deported But Government Denies

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/04/19/the-trump-administration-has-deported-a-dreamer-for-first-time-advocates-say/?utm_term=.435999816042

A man by the name of Juan Manuel Montes Bojorquez was the first "dreamer" deported by President Trump. Lawyers and immigration advocates argued that he didn't have the protected rights any immigrant should have when they are brought to the United States. He now lives in Mexico with his family said by his lawyers. The Trump administration is really ramping up their deportations but haven't done anything about the DACA and Trump seems to show sympathy for the people in DACA. Monte was said to be walking to a taxi station in California and a border patrol agent stopped him. Montes was brought into custody and just hours later he was walked to the Mexican border. The Department of Homeland Security said there was no record of deporting him and said it never happened. Officials later confirmed that Montes was definitely deported. Montes wanted to know why the government that said they wouldn't deport him for two years just deported him. Montes was actually scared for his life and tried to get back to the U.S. Pelosi told the post  “President Trump has unleashed an indiscriminate deportation dragnet of appalling inhumanity.”

This article and news situation relates to what we have been discussing in class because we have been talking about bureaucracy and bureaucracy is government. There were a lot of issues going into this case because the government was denying his deportation and stating their reasons for doing the deportation but it was indeed a mistake by them. The government needs to put more effort in making sure they are actually illegal immigrants before deporting them in just hours.

I feel that this case is a terrible situation. I feel that this comes back to racial profiling and why would he be just decided to get sent to be deported just by a man seeing him and saying he needs to leave. It was the government's mistake that he is out of the country now. They need to do more background research on any person just accused of being illegal and not come to assumptions. They shouldn't just choose someone and not even look into anything that would prove they need to stay in the country because they are simply innocent and sent out for no reason. Montes did nothing wrong and wasn't illegal but yet he was sent out of the country without being able to say anything in just hours. I think the government needs to put more effort and background checks before just sending someone out of here.

London Terrorist Attack

http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/22/europe/uk-parliament-firearms-incident/index.html

Today there was a terrorist attack in London. Four people were killed and many injured. The man ran a car into a crowd before attempting to run into the Houses of Parliament. The police think it was an Islamist influenced terrorist attack. He also fatally stabbed an officer that was a 15 year veteran. He was then shot dead after. People said it was the biggest terrorist attack since 2005. It was said that it was definitely no accident.

This relates to what is going on in class because we are talking about government power and how they act on certain things and this is what the UK is doing as well. All of us are in a state of shock and all the governments and officials need to act fast on it because we will never know what will happen next. Our government needs to keep their eye on everything and make sure we can prevent things like this happening to our country. This all comes back to government spying or anything where the government is involved more. We need to decide if the idea of the government being in our lives would be a good or bad thing. Our safety is most important but our real question is should the government go in to the extents of tapping in our phones or is that too much?

I feel that this should be a wake up call for everyone around the world. Anybody at anytime could do anything unexpected and harm others like what has happened today. We need to figure out how to prevent this from happening to us because we shouldn't have to feel unsafe or threatened in any way in public places. But it all comes back to the government and if we should maybe have them more involved in our lives or not. Any way to prevent terrorism is always a good thing but is it necessary to have them become involved enough in our lives to prevent it? I feel that the government should be able to prevent terrorist attacks but we should figure out another way for them to do that instead of them tapping in our phones or getting access to other personal stuff.

Athletes Get Political In Sports

http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/10/politics/donald-trump-colin-kaepernick-athletes-activism-sports/index.html

The article I chose has to do with athletes influence on politics and people bringing politics in to sports. There was a lot of controversy about BeyoncĂ©'s performance at the Super Bowl last year singing mainly about "Black Lives Matter" because she violated the unspoken rule of "keep politics out of sports." We wonder if this comes back to athletes getting political about Trump. Athletes have been politically active in ways that haven't been seen in centuries and a lot of people are mad about it. CNN sports analyst Christine Brennan  quoted "Sports is really no longer an escape from the real world that it used to be. Sports is a mirror of our society." Many athletes said they didn't like the image or views Trump put on races and social issues. I think this is in fact a good thing because I think political issues and just any issues going on in society should be brought to the attention of athletes and sports because so many people watch them. I think it is a great way to promote issues and bring attention to them.

This relates to the content we are discussing in class because we are talking about civil rights and the article shows that the athletes are bringing politics in that some have to do with racism. Racism is still an issue today and people are still discriminated and treated differently. What better way to bring up race equality than in sports that so many people watch. The other good thing is many people look up to athletes and if they said anything about political issues today that would most likely bring a good amount of attention on the issues going on today.

As I said in the earlier paragraph, I feel that this is a great thing and should definitely bring attention to social issues and racism issues today. I feel that people do indeed watch the news but a majority of people today would watch sports or anything on their favorite athletes and look up to them and really take in and take to heart what they say or believe. This could help get the word out.
