Man Gets Deported But Government Denies

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/04/19/the-trump-administration-has-deported-a-dreamer-for-first-time-advocates-say/?utm_term=.435999816042

A man by the name of Juan Manuel Montes Bojorquez was the first "dreamer" deported by President Trump. Lawyers and immigration advocates argued that he didn't have the protected rights any immigrant should have when they are brought to the United States. He now lives in Mexico with his family said by his lawyers. The Trump administration is really ramping up their deportations but haven't done anything about the DACA and Trump seems to show sympathy for the people in DACA. Monte was said to be walking to a taxi station in California and a border patrol agent stopped him. Montes was brought into custody and just hours later he was walked to the Mexican border. The Department of Homeland Security said there was no record of deporting him and said it never happened. Officials later confirmed that Montes was definitely deported. Montes wanted to know why the government that said they wouldn't deport him for two years just deported him. Montes was actually scared for his life and tried to get back to the U.S. Pelosi told the post  “President Trump has unleashed an indiscriminate deportation dragnet of appalling inhumanity.”

This article and news situation relates to what we have been discussing in class because we have been talking about bureaucracy and bureaucracy is government. There were a lot of issues going into this case because the government was denying his deportation and stating their reasons for doing the deportation but it was indeed a mistake by them. The government needs to put more effort in making sure they are actually illegal immigrants before deporting them in just hours.

I feel that this case is a terrible situation. I feel that this comes back to racial profiling and why would he be just decided to get sent to be deported just by a man seeing him and saying he needs to leave. It was the government's mistake that he is out of the country now. They need to do more background research on any person just accused of being illegal and not come to assumptions. They shouldn't just choose someone and not even look into anything that would prove they need to stay in the country because they are simply innocent and sent out for no reason. Montes did nothing wrong and wasn't illegal but yet he was sent out of the country without being able to say anything in just hours. I think the government needs to put more effort and background checks before just sending someone out of here.
